- February 1979
- The Japan Deep Sea Industry Co. Ltd. was established.
- August 1994
- The company renamed to The Marine Works Japan Ltd. aiming to become company of marine technicians.
- September 1995
- Our marine technical services started at the Institute for Oceanography of JAMSTEC, located in Sekinehama, Mutsu city, Aomori Pref. the home port of the oceanographic research vessel "Mirai".
- April 2001
- Our marine data operation services started, at the Global Oceanographic Data Center, Nago city, Okinawa Pref. with processing JAMSTEC's marin data, both numeric and visual.
- August 2003 February 2004
- MWJ marine technicians participated in the JAMSTEC organized BEAGLE2003 cruise of R/V Mirai and contributed to obtain high quality data.
- December 2004
- MWJ has registered to ISO, JIS Q 9001:2000 ; registration number JUSE-RA-1097.
- October 2005
- MWJ technical services started, at the Kochi Institute for Core Sample Research, located in Nankoku City, Kochi Pref. with analyzing core samples operating various instruments.
- September 2006
- The Deep Sea Drilling Vessel: CHIKYU made its first drilling operation at the northeast of Shimokita peninsula. MWJ marine technicians handled deep see cores using about 400 sophisticated equipments in on board laboratories.
